How To Make The Most Out Of Your Cake and Cupcake Toppers

HOW TO REMOVE THE FONDANT TOPPERS FROM THE BACKING PAPER!

The following information will help you get the most from your edible icing.

We advise keeping your toppers/icing sheet in the sealed bag provided in a cool, dry place until you are ready to use them. This prevents moisture from compromising the toppers. Your toppers will last up to six months if stored as advised. Please do not keep them in the fridge as this may cause the edible ink to run.

STEP ONE:

OPTION 1:

Take the icing out of the plastic bag and place in a DRY freezer for around 20-30 seconds.

Remove the sheet from the freezer making sure no moisture touches the image as this may cause the ink to run.

Gently peel away the topper from the backing sheet.

You may need to repeat this process.

OPTION 2:

Heat your oven on the LOWEST setting which is usually around 40C and place the toppers in for 5 minutes. You must then let them cool for a few minutes then they will pop off the backing sheet very easily.

If your topper tears then try rubbing a dry finger along the rip and allow to set.

Your cupcake toppers can be placed directly onto almost any kind of icing.

You can make the toppers thicker by making some discs out of flower paste which can be left

overnight to harden.

STEP TWO:

After removing your topper from the backing sheet lightly dampen the icing using a pastry brush making sure not to get any moisture on the image.   Alternatively use a little edible glue to stick the icing sheet to your cake.
